CHRISTIAN FIRST. MUSLIM LATER.
Want to know how this ends? Look at the Middle East.
Egypt. Syria. Lebanon. Iraq. Turkey. North Africa. Today we call them Muslim countries. They were Christian first. Alexandria was one of the great centers of Christian learning. Augustine came from North Africa. In Antioch, in Syria, the followers of Jesus were first called Christians. Paul wrote his letters to cities in what is now Turkey.
Then the armies came out of Arabia. That was conquest by force, plain and simple. But the real change came slower. Christians were taxed for their faith, placed under a lower legal status and restricted in building and repairing their churches. The pressure grew heavier as their numbers shrank. It took centuries. And the people living through it saw ordinary days. Until the day they didn't.
The same pattern is visible in the West today. At a smaller scale, for now.
Christianity is our foundation. Our laws and our idea of human dignity grew out of it. Then the state began tearing it down and told us God was "dead". And at the same time, the same state invited in an ideology that had not forgotten its faith. Quite the opposite. Stronger in its faith than most of us in the Western civilization.
Many Muslims in Western countries want what everyone wants - a home and a safe future for their children. I am talking about something else. I am talking about a movement, Islamism, that treats a Western country as ground to be won over time.
Leaving the faith is made very expensive. In many Muslim countries it is a crime, and in some it can cost you your life. In the West the price is paid in family, community and safety. When leaving costs that much, almost nobody leaves, and ordinary Muslims live inside a system where the most organized voices decide what may be said. Few dare to contradict them.
The movement does not announce itself. It works over decades. Presence comes first, then institutions: associations, schools, foreign-funded mosques, student groups, local politics. Then come the demands. Exemptions, special rules, protection from criticism. Each demand is small and reasonable on its own, and each one is delivered in the language of tolerance and rights. Every concession becomes the new baseline for the next. Critics get labeled until fewer people speak.
It does not need half the population. A small organized minority with patience beats a large majority that is scattered and distracted. Who is organized and who keeps pushing for decades matters more than the headcount.
Meanwhile everyone else lives their life and believes things are as they have always been. And they are, right up until the day they are no longer. By then the questions have been settled in rooms where nobody was looking. Only then do they wake up, or their children.
The strongest faith always wins. It won in the Middle East over Christianity. Just like Islam will win here.
Unless we wake up and remember who we are.
...and return home. ✝️
