Describe Islam without describing Islam. Islam can not coexist with western values. Never could. Never will.
Islam is a complete system of law. It governs the state, the courts, the family, the inheritance, the punishment, the dress, the food, the calendar. It makes no distinction between God’s command and state power. It has one word for religion and politics, because it never needed two.
The West is built on the opposite idea. Render unto Caesar what is Caesar’s, and to God what is God’s. One sentence, and it changed everything. It made room for law without theology. For the citizen instead of the subject.
Islam has no such sentence. Din wa dawla - religion and state as one. That is not a distortion of the doctrine. That is the doctrine.
This is why it cannot coexist with Western values. It never could. It never will.
Until it does what Christianity carried in its DNA from the beginning.
