ISLAM CANNOT COEXIST WITH THE WEST. AND THE TEXT MAKES THAT CLEAR.
Islam as a political law system cannot coexist with Western and Christian values.
That is not an opinion. That is a conclusion drawn from 1,400 years of history and the evidence of every single country where it has been given power.
And before anyone says “but not all Muslims”…let me address that directly.
A Muslim who genuinely lays down the political dimension of Islam - who fully accepts Western law, freedom of speech, equal rights for women, equal rights for homosexuals, the separation of religion and state, and the right of anyone to leave the faith without consequences - is welcome here.
On our terms. Without special considerations. Without parallel structures.
But let us be honest about how many are willing to do that.
Because laying down the political dimension of Islam is not a small thing. It means breaking with 1,400 years of theology that does not separate the private from the political. It means risking social exclusion. Family pressure. In some communities…far worse.
The text does not offer an easy exit. And the community does not make it comfortable.
So yes, in theory, a democratic Muslim can live here alongside us. But in practice, the number willing to make that break fully and genuinely is small. And we have spent decades pretending otherwise.
And what does fully accepting the West actually mean?
It means embracing freedom of speech - including the right to criticise Islam. It means accepting that a woman has exactly the same value as a man. In court. In the workplace. In the home. It means accepting that homosexuals have the same rights as everyone else. It means accepting that no divine law overrides democratic law. It means accepting that your daughter can wear whatever she wants.
That your son can leave the faith without being called an apostate. That art, music, humour and satire are not blasphemy but freedom. That a Jewish person is your equal. That an atheist is your equal. That a woman who does not cover her hair is not a whore.
If you can embrace all of that - genuinely, not strategically - then welcome my friend.
But if you cannot.
If you believe sharia should replace or supplement our legal system. If you believe women should be controlled, covered or restricted. If you believe homosexuals are sinful or deserve punishment. If you believe apostates should face consequences. If you believe your religion gives you the right to demand special treatment, special zones, special rules - in our country, on our soil, paid for by our taxes in generations.
Then there are 57 Muslim-majority countries in the world that may suit you better.
Pick one!
And here is something worth noting before you leave.
The UAE - one of the wealthiest and most functional Muslim-majority countries in the world - does not allow Islamism within its own borders.
They understand the difference between Islam as personal faith and Islam as a political weapon.
They deal with it accordingly…and are still under development.
They even actively discourage their young people from studying in England.
Why?
Because they know there is a very real risk they will come back radicalised. Let that sink in.
A Muslim-majority country is warning its own citizens about the Islamisation happening in a Western European democracy.
If even Muslim countries draw that line - perhaps it is time we did too.
And no! This is not hate or racism. This is not Islamophobia.
