The gullible EU allows a movement to operate on its own soil that Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Jordan have banned at home. That is the Arab world's own verdict on the Brotherhood, and they know it better than we do.
The Brotherhood was founded in Egypt in 1928. In the 1940s it had a secret military apparatus. In 1948 a member shot Egypt's prime minister, and in 1954 a member tried to kill Nasser.
Hamas is the movement's Palestinian branch, founded in 1987. In 2026 the United States designated three Brotherhood branches as terrorist organizations, and in July it sanctioned a London-based leader for raising money for Hamas.
The foundation in Europe was laid in 1958. Said Ramadan, son-in-law of the Brotherhood's founder, took over a mosque project in Munich and turned it into the movement's European base. From there the network grew, and in 1989 its German arm founded the umbrella organization FIOE in Brussels.
Yusuf al-Qaradawi, the Brotherhood's most influential ideologue, defended suicide bombings as permitted jihad. France denied him entry in 2012, but he had already founded the European Council for Fatwa and Research.
The money comes from abroad. The book Qatar Papers documents 72 million euros from Qatar to Brotherhood-linked groups in seven European countries. King's College London has concluded that Qatar and Turkey support an interlinked network of Brotherhood organizations. A French government report found 139 mosques tied to the movement.
And the EU? Parliament voted 381 to 167 to put Brotherhood-linked entities on the terror list. The vote binds nobody. Britain has also examined the group since 2014 and has never banned it. No EU country has either.
All of this is out in the open. Europe has read it and has chosen not to act.
I have no respect for those who are supposed to run our countries and protect their people. If this headless rule continues, a reckoning will come. Because at some point people rise up and say enough is enough. I recommend they clean this up and get it under control before then.
No one can say they did not know.
