The Jews spit on us Christians in Israel, say the Islamists and the left. Let's look at the numbers.
It's true. It happens. Ultra-Orthodox Jews spit on Christian priests and pilgrims in Jerusalem. And they do it more often than before.
The Rossing Center, an interreligious organisation in Jerusalem, documented 155 incidents against Christians in 2025. The Religious Freedom Data Center recorded 181, of which 109 were spitting. Vandalism, harassment, insults and spit.
Number of dead: zero.
Now take the other side of the ledger, from the same year, from Europol's own terrorism report.
45 terrorist attacks in the EU in 2025. Jihadism accounted for 24 of them, about half. Nine were carried out, in Germany, France, Austria, Ireland and Spain. Five people died, 81 were injured.
Eight of the nine attacks were carried out with knives. The ninth was a man who drove his car into a crowd in Munich, killing two and injuring 57.
486 were arrested for terrorism in the EU, 347 of them for jihadism.
Spit against corpses.
And there is another difference in that case that nobody talks about.
When Jews spat on Christians in Jerusalem, Israel's prime minister condemned it. The chief rabbis condemned it. Ultra-Orthodox politicians condemned it. Rabbis said publicly that it has no basis in Jewish law and is a desecration of God's name.
Arrests were made. Police dressed as monks to catch the perpetrators.
Show me the equivalent response in Europe. Show me the imams who stood up after Munich.
Now let's settle the other thing, before anyone tries it.
There are rotten apples in every religion and among every people. Catholic priests abused 216,000 children in France alone between 1950 and 2020, and the figure rises to 330,000 when the Church's lay staff are counted. The Church covered it up for decades and only changed course around 2015.
There are Christians, Jews, atheists and Hindus who rape, beat and murder.
But the French bishops commissioned that report themselves. They gave an outsider access to their archives, and he wrote 2,500 pages that condemned them. The bishops knelt at Lourdes. The Pope called it his own shame. Compensation was paid.
Taking a group of a few hundred people and turning every Jew and every Israeli into a villain is not analysis. It is hatred that has found itself a pretext.
So let's ask the question nobody will ask.
Not which people, but which system: which religious legal system in 2026 carries out the most violence and oppression?
The answer is sharia, and the difference from everything else on the list is not one of degree. It is that this is not the deviation. It is the law.
There are today at least ten countries where leaving Islam can be punished by death. Afghanistan, Iran, Malaysia, the Maldives, Mauritania, Nigeria, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Yemen. Add Pakistan and Somalia, where the same is achieved through blasphemy law.
In Pakistan, death is the only available penalty for insulting the Prophet, following a 1991 court ruling that declared life imprisonment too lenient.
More than a thousand people have been prosecuted since 1988. At least 85 have been killed without trial. None of these countries is Christian. None of them is Jewish.
Look at Afghanistan, because it is happening as you read this. Since 2021 the Taliban have issued 264 decrees affecting human rights. 166 of them target women and girls specifically.
Girls are excluded from all schooling above sixth grade, and universities have been closed to them since December 2022. In January 2026, female civil servants were told their pay had stopped and their employment was over.
Since September 2025, armed guards have prevented Afghan women from entering the UN's own offices in the country.
There is a decree permitting violence against women so long as it does not break bones or leave visible bruises. Women are turned away from hospitals for being incorrectly dressed or arriving without a male guardian.
In 2025 alone, more people were publicly flogged than in all previous years of Taliban rule combined.
More than 3,300 men are employed to enforce the rules, among them the rule that women may not let their voices be heard in public. UN experts call it gender apartheid.
In July 2025 the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for the Taliban's most senior leaders for gender persecution as a crime against humanity.
And look at Iran. A 22-year-old woman was arrested by the morality police in September 2022 for not wearing her headscarf correctly. She died in their custody. The UN fact-finding mission established that she was killed by physical violence committed by the state, and that the state then obscured the truth and harassed her family into silence.
When people took to the streets in the aftermath, as many as 551 protesters were shot by security forces. Among them at least 49 women and 68 children. Most were killed with firearms, including assault rifles. More than 22,000 were detained.
The UN concluded that this amounted to crimes against humanity: murder, imprisonment, torture, rape, enforced disappearance.
They died for wanting to walk with their hair uncovered.
And let no one say it is far away.
In England, between 30 and 85 sharia councils operate. They have no legal status, but they have power.
An independent government review in 2018 found that most of their work concerns Islamic divorce, that the applicants are overwhelmingly women, and that some of the councils legitimise forced marriage and issue divorces that treat women unfairly.
The review recommended regulation. The government refused. A ban was called unworkable, because the councils would simply go underground.
At the same time, a substantial share of Muslim marriages in the country are never civilly registered, which leaves those women with no legal protection when the husband walks out.
That is not sharia as state law. It is something worse. It is sharia in the space the state has given up entering.
And the state gives up that space for one reason. The British government's own review in 2025 established that the authorities had for decades avoided the question of the perpetrators' background in the grooming cases, and that it is not racist to examine it. The fear of being called racist cost girls their childhoods.
And the blasphemy rule is already enforced in Europe. Not by courts, but by knives. And countries that had abolished their blasphemy clause have written it back in after threats from abroad.
There is sharia in Europe. Not in the statute books by name, but in what people no longer dare say, and in the women who cannot get out of a marriage.
And let me say the thing that usually shuts people up: most victims of Islamist violence are Muslims. Shias blown apart at Friday prayer. Girls barred from school. Men flogged. Ex-Muslims who dare not say their own names aloud. Iranian women shot in the street.
They spit in Jerusalem, and it is repulsive, and their own people said so out loud.
