We cannot change the world with hate. We cannot fight darkness with the same thing as darkness. It has been tried throughout history, and the result is always the same. Darkness driven out by darkness only becomes more darkness. Hate met with hate breeds new hate.
The only thing that has ever driven out darkness is light.
But let me say something important about anger.
Anger is a real emotion. It should not be packed away, and it should not be shamed. Anger is often the first sign that something is wrong - that a line has been crossed, that an injustice has been done.
The question is not whether we are allowed to feel anger. The question is what we do with it. Anger used as hate becomes darkness. Anger used as love for - for truth, for freedom, for justice, for those who cannot defend themselves - becomes light.
The same fire can burn a house down or keep it warm. What matters is who holds the torch, and why.
And the same goes for our words. Speaking clearly and directly, without wrapping, is not the same as hate.
Clear speech is not harsh speech. Truth without a filter is not aggression. Everything depends on what lies behind it - what the words are sent with.
Two people can say exactly the same thing. One speaks from hate and wants to wound. The other speaks from love and wants to awaken. The words are identical. The force behind them is worlds apart. And the receiver feels the difference, even when it cannot be explained. Because energy never lies.
That is why we must examine ourselves before we speak. Not to stay silent. Never to stay silent. But to make sure that what we send out comes from the right place.
And here we cannot get around God. The way home - for all of us - goes through Him.
Of course because the strongest faith always wins. That is how it has been throughout history.
But most of all because Jesus Christ is pure love. Not weak love. Not compliant love. Pure love. The kind that overturns tables in the temple and still forgives from the cross.
Even Jesus knew holy anger. But it never came from hate. It came from love for what was worth defending.
That is the force we must speak from. Clearly. Directly. Without wrapping. With anger as fuel when necessary - but never from darkness.
For we shall not win with hate. We shall win with light.
Light over darkness.🪽❤️🔥✝️
