A few days ago I walked into a lingerie store. One of those places I've been going into for years.
Two women were working there. Both Danish.
The first one had light blonde hair. She smiled, walked toward me and asked if she could help. You could feel her in the room.
The other one stood behind the counter. Dressed in black from head to toe, a scarf wrapped around every strand of hair. She didn't move. She didn't smile. She just stood there like a mannequin.
Two women. Same store. Two completely different energies.
I don't know her story. But I know what I saw. And I know what nobody says out loud.
Young women are walking among us, working among us, hidden away in dark cloth. And we act like it's normal. We look away. We say nothing.
In a store that exists to help women feel beautiful in their own skin.
What is going on?
