And then there is Boy George. He has no Jewish roots, but he stepped forward anyway. He released "We Will Dance Again" and pulled out of his role at the Palladium days later. Soon after, he parted ways with the head of his own record label over the song. He stood by it anyway.
He has Jewish friends, and he said it plainly: it will never happen that I turn my back on them.
For that gesture and that statement, I love him.
They knew what it could cost. They stood up for the Israelis and the Jews anyway, because it's right.
Jew hatred is back on the streets and on the campuses. Silence takes no courage. Saying it does.
