Congratulations to Dearborn, Michigan. America's first Arab-majority city.
Less than a hundred years ago it was an ordinary American industrial town. Today half or more of its residents are of Middle Eastern descent, the mayor is Muslim, the police chief is Muslim, and the city is home to the largest mosque in North America.
This week around 40,000 people dressed in black moved through the streets in a religious procession. It wasn't a one-off. It's a fixed annual tradition, now held for the 31st time.
It took no invasion. It took birth rates, family reunification and a population that showed up in force every single time, while the original residents moved out or looked away.
That is how a city changes hands now. Slow enough that no one objects until the math is already done.
And Dearborn is not the exception. Several cities across Europe are following suit, right on its heels.
America just got its first. Europe stopped counting years ago.
And the European politicians refuse to take it seriously. They fail their citizens year after year, while the numbers speak for themselves.
