I love the church space

I love the church space. The stone, the silence, the light through the glass. It is part of our Christian heritage, and we should preserve it.

But faith is not bound to the church. Not to the building, not to the form, whatever it looks like. Jesus said it Himself. Where two or three are gathered in my name, there I am among them. That is the church. Not in the wall, but in the people.

It is worth understanding why this matters. Because through history, faith has sometimes been confused with the institution. And when that happens, people can begin to believe that they are the ones who administer God, instead of serving Him.

Take replacement theology. It teaches that the church has taken Israel's place, that God's covenant with the Jews has ended and been handed to the Christians. That the Jews are no longer the chosen people. That is the idea that made room for contempt of Jews for centuries. And it is still alive, often without people knowing where it comes from.

Jesus warned against exactly that spirit. Think of the Pharisees. They were the most devout of their day, the ones who knew scripture by heart, who prayed the loudest. And yet they were the ones He came down hardest on. Not because they believed, but because they set themselves in God's seat and handed out condemnation in His name.

That spirit is not bound to any one time or place. We see it today out in the street, among those who raise the flag for Palestine and in the same motion declare a whole people guilty. The Jew on the corner, the child in the classroom, the family in the synagogue. Same spirit. The one that takes an entire group and marks them for hatred.

That is not faith. It is the old pride that has found itself a new cause. And Jesus called it by name.

For God does not live in the walls. He lives in the heart. The church space is beautiful, and we should protect it. But faith is not about going to church. Faith is a personal relationship you build with God yourself. It goes through the heart, and it is yours alone.❤️‍🔥✝️
