LISTEN CAREFULLY!
SOMETHING HAPPENED WHEN WE KILLED GOD.
It was not a metaphor. It was a decision.
A civilisation decided it no longer needed anything greater than itself.
That science could replace meaning. That the state could replace community. That the individual could replace truth.
And then it began.
Not overnight. Gradually. Exactly the way freedom disappears gradually.
First everything was just relative. No absolutes. No right and wrong - only perspectives. No objective truth - only narratives. No nature - only constructions.
And then came the consequences.
We told men that masculinity was a problem to be solved. We told women that femininity was a weakness to be overcome. We told children they could choose their gender - before they could choose their favourite colour.
We said it was just as good whether a child grew up with a mother and a father - or two fathers - or neither.
We dismantled the father. Humiliated the mother. Made the child into a project. The elderly into a burden.
We replaced the sacred with comfort. The church with the state. Prayer with therapy. God with ourselves.
And then we stood there.
Alone. Rootless. Without direction. Without anything worth dying for - and therefore without anything worth living for.
And just look at what happened.
Birth rates collapsed. The loneliness epidemic exploded. Mental illness among young people reached historic highs. Men and women cannot find each other. Families fall apart. Churches emptied.
And people are searching - desperately - for something that can carry them.
That is not a coincidence. That is consequence.
Because human beings are not made to live without a vertical axis. We are made with a sense of sin - and a need to make it right. With a hunger for something greater than ourselves. With a deep intuition that history is heading somewhere.
You can call it religion. You can call it psychology. You can call it evolution.
But it is there. In all people. On all continents. In all cultures.
It does not disappear just because nobody showed up to church anymore.
It becomes homeless.
And homeless needs always find a surrogate.
The climate religion. Identity politics. Woke ideology. All with their sin - CO2 or skin colour. All with their priesthood - the experts or the activists. All with their salvation - the green transition or anti-racism. All with the utopian promise of paradise on the other side.
False gods. Every single one of them.
Because they cannot carry what they promise to carry.
And deep down - human beings know it.
But.
And here is what blows me away every single time I think about it.
We cannot unite around a prime minister. We have tried - our own in Denmark deleted the text messages, divided the population and even abolished a public holiday.
We cannot unite around an ideology. They always divide more than they unite.
We cannot unite around a party. They change their minds when it is convenient.
We cannot even unite around a nation - because what is a nation without the foundation it is built on?
But we can unite around Him.
And when we do - something happens that cannot be explained rationally.
The fear disappears. Not because the problems disappear - but because you suddenly carry them in something greater than yourself.
Courage returns. Not because it is easy - but because you know you are not alone.
And community arises. Not based on skin colour, gender, nationality or political conviction - but on something that transcends all those categories.
The first Christians had no power. No money. No military. No political influence.
They had only faith.
And they changed the world.
The Roman Empire tried to stop them. It could not.The Nazis tried to stop the Christians who hid Jews. They could not. The Communists tried to erase Christianity in China, Russia and North Korea. They could not. Iran is trying to erase Christianity. It cannot - Christianity is growing explosively - under the radar - with their lives at stake.
Because light cannot be extinguished by darkness.
Darkness is simply the absence of light.
And when the light is turned on - the darkness is gone.
That is how it is with Him.
When we unite around Him - there is nothing that can stop us.
Not algorithms. Not governments. Not ideologies. Not hatred in the comment sections. Not threats in the inbox.
NOTHING!
Because we are not fighting against flesh and blood. We are fighting something we can win.
Because He has already won.
Today is a public holiday - Ascension Day - in many countries.
He went home today. But He did not leave us.
And the day He returns - everything we have fought for will make sense. Every single day. Every single text. Every single speech.
And I - I am just the messenger. Nothing more. Nothing less. The glory belongs to Him!
