Nobody is coming to save the West. It's you

Nobody is coming to save the West. It's you.

People ask me if I really believe that Islamists, socialists and communists sit in a room together planning the fall of the West.

No. They don't. And they don't need to.

They don't share a dream. They would despise each other's societies if they ever got as far as building them. What they share is an obstacle. The nation state. The border. The faith. The family. And the memory that this was actually worth something.

You don't need a shared blueprint to tear a house down. You only need to agree on which house it is.

Here is what it looks like when it happens. Not in a theory. In your life.

It's the head teacher who moves the Christmas assembly and calls it consideration. It's the swimming lesson that quietly becomes optional. It's the colleague who goes silent when the subject comes up, and then tells you by the coffee machine that she agrees completely, she just doesn't say it out loud. It's you, checking who's listening before you say what you think. It's the comment you delete again. It's the vacation you don't book there anymore. It's the neighborhood you drove through ten years ago without a thought, and now drive around.

Nobody banned you from anything. No law was ever passed. You moved yourself.

That isn't a takeover. It's a retreat. And it's ours.

The grammar comes from Marxism, and it's simple enough to learn in an afternoon. There are oppressors and there are oppressed. Power is always guilt. History is an account that has to be settled. When the Western working class turned down the leading role, because it would rather have a house, a car and some peace, the role was simply handed to someone else. Class became identity. And the left found itself a new client, numerous, organized, and already holding a conviction the left did not share.

Islamism accepted. Not because it believes in women's liberation, gay rights or any of the things its new friends say they would die for. Because it can read a power relationship when it sees one.

And we have seen how that ends.

Iran, 1979. The Iranian communists backed the revolution against the Shah. They were convinced the clerics were an instrument you could set down afterwards, once power had been taken. Four years later the party was crushed, the leaders were in prison, and the movement was gone. They thought they were using Islamism.

That isn't a warning about something that could happen. It's a receipt for something that already did.

But here is what I actually want to say.

None of the three movements is strong enough to take anything from us. They aren't taking. They're moving in. And they're moving into a space we cleared ourselves.

We threw God out and called it maturity. We assumed the foundation would stay where it was once we removed the one who laid it. That we could keep the sanctity of the individual without the one who made the individual sacred. That forgiveness, conscience, the infinite worth of one person, and the right to say no to power were things we came up with ourselves one morning.

We didn't. They're inherited. They came from a specific belief that man is made in the image of God, and that your worth is therefore not granted by the state, by the crowd, or by how useful you are. That sentence is what makes a Western citizen something other than a subject. That sentence is why power has to ask permission.

Pull that sentence out, and everything else comes down after it. Not immediately. There are a couple of generations where the furniture is still standing and everything looks the way it always did. Then someone shows up with a faith they actually mean (Islam), and finds nobody home.

We abolished our own foundation, called it a natural development, and acted surprised when someone moved in.

You don't save a civilization by pointing at the people who want it gone. You save it by taking your own house back and daring to say again what it stands on.

That work isn't theirs. It's yours. And mine!❤️‍🔥🪽✝️
