PRO- PALESTINE HAS BECOME THE MOST PREDICTABLE MOVEMENT IN THE WEST.
You barely need to open the comments anymore. You already know what's there. The same words, the same phrases and the same accusations, over and over.
Show them historical documents. Show them sources. Show them anything that complicates the story. If reality doesn't fit the narrative, then apparently reality must be a lie.
That isn't critical thinking. That's ideological thinking.
That is exactly why the alliance between Islamists and parts of the Western left is so grotesque. The Islamists know perfectly well what they're fighting for. Their Western useful idiots are useful idiots for a reason.
People who live under the protection of Western values like free speech, freedom of religion, democracy, equality before the law, women's rights, gay rights and the right to live your own life are marching alongside political-religious movements whose ideology, on fundamental points, stands in direct opposition to those very freedoms.
And here's something the activist Western left would rather not talk about: ANTISEMITISM.
Antisemitism has deep roots in Islamic tradition. That doesn't make every Muslim an antisemite, but it does make many.
It has been a real and documented part of the ideology of central Islamist movements, and it didn't emerge in a historical vacuum.
Islamic source texts contain strongly negative passages about Jews. The Quran contains harsh polemics against specific Jewish groups, and the later hadith literature contains far more explicit texts about fighting Jews.
Over time, Islamist movements have drawn on exactly these texts and interpretations to legitimize their antisemitism.
Hamas' original 1988 charter didn't just talk about the Israeli government. In Article 7, it quoted a hadith about fighting and killing Jews.
JEWS. Not Netanyahu. Not the IDF. Not "the Israeli government." Jews.
You can't erase an organization's ideological history just because it's inconvenient.
Then comes the next one: "ISRAEL KILLS CHILDREN."
A large number of Palestinian children have been killed in this war. That should not be explained away. Every single dead child is a tragedy.
But if you want to discuss civilian deaths seriously, you have to discuss the WHOLE reality of the war. That means talking about how Hamas and other armed groups wage war from one of the most densely populated areas on earth. About tunnels, about weapons and military activity in civilian areas, about fighting in and around civilian infrastructure and about rockets launched from residential neighborhoods. About the enormous difference between protecting civilians and waging war in the middle of them.
None of this relieves Israel of its own responsibility under the laws of war. A country is still responsible for its own military decisions, for proportionality and for the protection of civilians. That responsibility doesn't disappear in war.
But then tell the WHOLE story.
Throughout the war, Israel has used millions of leaflets, text messages, automated calls and direct phone calls to warn civilians and urge them to leave areas where the IDF planned operations against Hamas. They told civilians which areas to leave, designated evacuation routes and in a number of cases warned specific areas and buildings before strikes.
Why? Because civilians need to get OUT of the combat zone.
That is a fundamental difference in how the two sides wage war. Israel has built systems to do exactly that. Hamas and other Palestinian armed groups have operated FROM among the civilians.
If you want to talk about dead Palestinian children, let's talk about them. But then we talk about ALL the responsibility. Including Hamas'. You can't wage war from within your own civilian population and then pretend that the way the war was fought is irrelevant to the civilians who end up paying the price.
But Hamas' way of waging war doesn't disappear either, just because it makes the story less simple.
And then there are the numbers. When you see a precise figure for Palestinians killed, the running Gaza numbers come primarily from the Gaza Health Ministry. A health ministry operating in a territory ruled by Hamas.
That's worth knowing. It's called source criticism.
Which is why it's fascinating to watch people who claim to be deeply skeptical of governments, militaries and institutions lose every ounce of critical sense the moment a number or a story confirms exactly what they already want to believe.
And then: "IT'S NOT ABOUT JEWS. IT'S ABOUT ISRAEL."
Of course you can criticize Israel. Of course you can criticize Netanyahu and Israeli military decisions. No government on this earth is above criticism. None.
But criticism of a government can't be used as a shield for antisemitism. And you can't ignore what has happened to Jews thousands of miles from Gaza since October 7. Jews who don't sit in the Israeli government. Jews who don't set Israel's military policy. Jews who may never have set foot in Israel.
Yet the number of recorded antisemitic incidents exploded after October 7 in several Western countries. Primarily committed by followers of Islam whom we VOLUNTARILY let into our countries.
If it's ONLY about Netanyahu and the Israeli government, why is a Jew in Copenhagen, London, Sydney or New York being held responsible?
That's where the story starts to crack. Criticism of Israel and antisemitism are not the same thing. But antisemitism hides behind criticism of Israel, and it is our responsibility to know the difference.
I have no problem with people who sincerely care about the lives of Palestinian children. I have a problem with people who use Palestinian children as moral ammunition while refusing to deal with Hamas, October 7, the hostages, Islamist antisemitism or the ideology they themselves are marching beside in our streets. Because then it's no longer only about the children. Then it's about ideology.
If we, as ordinary people in the West, believe in freedom, democracy, equality, freedom of religion and the right of Jews to live openly and safely among us, then silence is not a strategy.
We need democratic pushback. Not with violence, but with votes. With facts, with historical memory and with courage.
Speak up against antisemitism. Speak up against Islamism. Speak up against political extremism. And don't let the loudest cult in the street convince you that silence is the same as decency.
Because when hatred is normalized, the question isn't only who shouted the loudest.
History also remembers who watched it happen... and chose to say nothing. I urge everyone in the silent majority to open their mouths. It is time we draw a line in the sand, once and for all, and defend our Western values and civilization. Stand up!❤️🔥
