She did everything she was told would make her free. The education, the career, the title on the door. Somewhere along the way she learned that nobody would catch her if she fell, so she made sure she never fell. She plans her weeks down to the hour and has the answer ready before the question is asked.
And it works. From the outside it looks like strength.
But control is a hard master. It never lets you rest, because the moment you let go, something might slip. So she holds on. To the job, to the image, to the story that she needs no one. Strong independent woman.
Modern feminism handed her that story as a gift. It told her that dependence is danger, that every hand reaching toward her wants something, and that the only safe place in the world is the driver's seat. It never told her what it costs to drive alone for forty plus years.
Then someone speaks to her about God.
Faith asks for the one thing she has spent her whole life refusing to give. It asks her to kneel. To admit she is not the author of her own life. To trust a Father she cannot manage, negotiate with or outperform.
That is where it stops. She was taught that surrender is weakness and that a woman who lets go gets taken advantage of. So she calls herself rational. She says she believes in herself. It sounds like independence, but underneath it is fear.
I was never one of them. I never bought the part where men are the problem. I have always loved men, and I have never wanted a world with fewer of them in it.
But I knew the other half of it well. The strong, independent woman who handles everything herself, because that is what the world rewards and because letting someone else carry it feels like a risk she can't take. That grip I understand from the inside. And I know what it took to open my hands.
Something happens to a woman when she learns to kneel before God. She can also kneel before her husband. Not below him, but with him. Once a woman has surrendered to the highest authority, surrendering to her man is no longer a threat to her identity. He leads. She trusts. The polarity stays intact, and that is where the pull between a man and a woman actually lives…for life!
A relationship built on two people negotiating for control has no depth. A relationship built on surrender has a floor under it. It is the difference between a partnership you have to defend every week and a marriage that holds…with attraction and love.
Here is the truth nobody told her. You can't be a daughter of the King if you can't surrender. A daughter doesn't earn her place at the table. She receives it. She rests in it. The crown was never something she had to fight for.
Surrender feels like losing control, and it is. That is the whole point. Only when her hands are empty is there room for what she could never grab for herself.
So many of these women are exhausted. They carry everything alone and call it freedom.
The King is still waiting. But He will not force the door.
She can keep control. Or she can be a daughter.✝️❤️🔥
