We should dissolve the EU and start over.
It began as a common market. The EC was about trade and about peace between nations that had killed each other for centuries. It was a good idea. Then came the slippery slope. Step by step, cooperation turned into a system where Brussels decides more and more, and where the goal is to make every country the same.
Uniformity is not cooperation. Europe is not one culture. It never was, and it should never be. Portugal is not Poland, and Hungary is not Ireland. Every country has its own history, its own faith and its own way of living. That is what makes the continent rich. When everyone is pressed into the same mold, the very thing that gave the mold its value disappears.
Every people should decide for themselves what is good for them. That is self-determination, and it is the foundation of a free country. So let us gather again around what the EC was actually meant to be: free trade and peace between free nations.
We also need to replace the form of government we have. We need fewer politicians in our governments and more self-determination for the people.
Switzerland shows the way. The country is run by a government of only seven members, and citizens put laws on the agenda themselves. 100,000 signatures are enough to force a national vote on a constitutional change, and 50,000 are enough to challenge a law that has been passed. The Swiss vote several times a year. When the people have the final word, politicians work for the people.
Citizens should keep more of their own money. They are the ones who earned it. The weakest in society must be helped, and we must do it properly. At the same time, it should be attractive to be the master of your own fortune. A society that rewards those who take responsibility for their own lives gets more strong people.
Immigration must benefit the country. It cannot be a one-way ticket to public benefits. You are here on the West's terms.
Human rights law must therefore also be changed. The European Convention on Human Rights comes from the Council of Europe, not from the EU, and it was written after a war, for a different time. Today it is used to stop countries from protecting themselves.
The member states of the Council of Europe need to change it, so that nations can pass laws that make it possible to remove immigrants who refuse to adapt to our Western values. Those who come to our countries must respect them. Those who will not, should not stay.
Dissolve the EU. Rebuild Europe, nation by nation. It starts now.
