When the pro-Palestine crowd shows up with their usual clichés, one of them is always the same: “Why is Israel even in Lebanon? Who do they think they are? Out with the occupier, down with Israel, and down with everyone defending them.”
Let me tell you.
Israel is in Lebanon because Hezbollah, an Iran-backed terror militia, fired rockets at northern Israeli towns and drove tens of thousands of people out of their own homes.
Israel stays until Hezbollah is disarmed and the Lebanese state controls its own territory again. Not one day longer. It’s written in black and white in the framework agreement.
The withdrawal has already begun, as Lebanese soldiers move in and take over. This isn’t occupation for its own sake. It’s a country removing a threat that Lebanon’s own government hasn’t dared to touch for years.
Picture it. A country. A democracy. That wants evil gone. And then you have people in the western world standing up to protest exactly that. Protesting that someone dares to say enough to terror. Let it sink in what that says about them.
So next time you hear the clichés, don’t stay silent. Open your mouth!
