DO YOU WANT TO AVOID WHAT'S COMING?
You say you don't want your children and grandchildren living on their knees. Good. Then let's talk about your vote.
For years you've put your mark next to parties that promise to change course. They've had power. They've had majorities. And the course is the same. Not because they're incompetent. Because they never meant it.
You know this. So the question isn't what they do. The question is what you do.
Either you place blind trust in them delivering next time. They won't. Or your ego is too proud and your daily life too comfortable to move your vote to where it actually counts. Because your colleagues call them racists. Because the parents at your children's school do. Because the media does. And so your comfort outweighs the future of your civilization.
So let me put it plainly. You are complicit. Not because you wanted this. But because you kept handing your vote to the people who let it happen, long after you knew better.
Think about it.
Because the alternative is that this continues. And I can say with certainty it ends somewhere ugly. So let me say plainly what that place is called. It's called civil war. That's where you end up when a people's votes and a people's safety are ignored year after year by weak politicians too afraid to touch the subject, more concerned with protecting their own reputation than cleaning up the mess they let in.
People put up with a lot. But not with everything, and not forever. And once the trust that the system will protect them is gone, people stop going to the ballot box and start handling things themselves. That isn't a threat. That's history, every single time.
That is exactly why I get up every day and use everything in my power. Why I use a voice that reaches and is seen by millions of people. To keep us from ending up in that place again, where we have to fight and kill each other.
In some countries we are already far enough down that road that the people who study this for a living put it at less than a decade before it breaks open. No. Not on my watch. Not before I have fought with everything I have to stop it.
And let's be clear about one thing. These are the same problems everywhere in the Western world. Exactly the same. The same unwillingness to defend our own foundation. The same cowardice in the people elected to do it (except the United States at the moment). Which is why it's time we see ourselves as allies instead of as individual countries. Those of us standing on the same side. This isn't Europe, Canada, Australia and the United States separately. It's all of us, and it has to be fought from every side.
Some say we shouldn't say things like this (war) out loud. Self-fulfilling prophecies and all that jazz. But closing your eyes to the truth has never saved anyone. It has only given it time to grow while we pretended otherwise.
It's time to make a choice. You make it now, or it gets made for you.
