Jotam Confino came to our home for lunch today.
A Danish-Israeli journalist who reports from inside the storm, not from a safe desk in Copenhagen.
Middle East correspondent for years, writing for The Telegraph, BBC, The New York Sun, Haaretz, USA Today. Daily Mail and Danish BT, covering the region from the ground since 2018.
He was one of the journalists shown the raw, unedited footage of the October 7 massacre. He sat with it, wrote it down, and refused to let the world look away.
And that is exactly why they come for him. Every pro-Palestinian account, every Jew-hater with a keyboard, tries to drag him down, smear him, silence him, brand him a liar.
Because he documents what they would rather bury.
But he doesn’t fold. He keeps reporting. That is what real journalism looks like, and it is rarer than ever.
Europe and the western world needs more like him. Fewer commentators reading press releases. More people willing to stand in the fire and tell you exactly what they see.
Thank you for the visit Mr Confino. You are a brave young man with the right moral compass. Stay loud. Stay fearless. The rest of us are right behind you.
